LeadWinner vs InstantResponse: Pay-Per-Lead or Flat Location Plans? (2026)
Standard disclosure: we build LeadWinner, and this comparison uses InstantResponse’s own published information (July 2026).
The spec sheets in this category converge — both tools reply automatically, both run follow-ups, both cover Yelp and Thumbtack. What doesn’t converge is the layer you can’t screenshot: what the reply says to a vague request, whether it invents a price, when it stops, when it rings you. That’s the 90% of the product that gets built after the auto-reply works, and it’s where LeadWinner has spent its mileage — more than 250,000 real lead conversations refining exactly that layer.
The 30-second version
LeadWinner has one mode: AI-personalized replies on every lead — ~10 seconds on Yelp, ~20 on Thumbtack — plus up to 10 context-aware follow-ups and the 2-way auto-call that bridges you to the customer live. Pricing is $2.99 per lead (first 30 a week, then $1.49) with no monthly fee — $0 in a zero-lead month — and a 7-day trial. Google LSA is covered too, with ~30-second replies.
InstantResponse (instantresponse.ai) covers Yelp, Thumbtack, and Google LSA with flat monthly location plans, as of July 2026: Starter at $99/month for one location (extra locations $79/month each), Growth at $199/month for up to three locations (extra locations $59/month), and Scale from $499/month. All plans include AI and scripted reply modes, unlimited leads, and a 14-day trial, month-to-month. Its published first-reply figure is ”< 60s” — under a minute, versus the ~10 seconds we publish for Yelp. No phone bridge to the lead is advertised; voice is described as in advanced beta.
Before you take a flat location plan, ask
- What does a zero-lead month cost? On these plans, $99 and up — the fee doesn’t know whether Yelp sent you anything. Per-lead pricing makes that month $0.
- How do the location fees stack? A second location is +$79/month on Starter; three locations means the $199 plan. Ask for the all-in number for your footprint, per month, in writing.
- Is “under 60 seconds” fast enough to win? It beats a human typing, but on a shared quote request the first relevant reply usually takes the conversation — ask what their reply actually says, and compare it to one generated from the customer’s request.
- How does a hot lead become a phone call? No lead-to-phone bridge is advertised; ask what the workflow is when a customer is ready to talk.

Ten seconds vs sixty, and what the reply says
Their own site puts the first reply at under 60 seconds; we publish ~10 seconds on Yelp and ~20 on Thumbtack. Both beat a human — but on a shared quote request, being early only pays if the message engages the project. A scripted mode fires the template you wrote, which means every customer who messaged three pros can get three near-identical templates; we wrote up what templated auto-replies can and can’t do. An AI reply is only better if it behaves — on the vague leads, the out-of-scope ones, the ones that open with a price question. That behavior is precisely what a quarter of a million real conversations refine, and it’s the thing to test in both trials before any pricing math.
Where the products differ in scope
InstantResponse’s scripted mode sends exactly the templates you wrote — useful if you want full control over every word. That’s the concrete difference on their side of the table.
When LeadWinner is the better choice
- The reply and everything after it. Personalized replies, up to 10 context-aware follow-ups, and escalation refined on more than 250,000 real lead conversations — not a template with a timer.
- The phone call. Their site advertises no bridge to the lead; our 2-way auto-call rings you and connects you live, included.
- Costs that track reality. $2.99–$1.49 per actual lead beats paying $99+ in a month when the leads didn’t come.
- Multiple locations without stacking fees. Their model adds a fee per location; ours doesn’t care how many places your leads come from — you pay per lead.
FAQ
Do templated replies hurt my response metrics? No — any reply protects your response rate. What they don’t do is start conversations: customers can tell a templated greeting from an answer to their question.
Can I try both and compare? That’s exactly what trials are for — run each on the same platform in different weeks, send yourself a test lead, and judge the replies as a customer. (Don’t run two responders on the same inbox simultaneously.)
